We are Fiji's leading resort and hotel building company with experience in resort design and construction going back to the company's beginning 17 years ago. To date we have built over a dozen resorts throughout Fiji and the Pacific Islands with most of them in the remote outer islands where site access is difficult, materials and skilled labour are scarce and infrastructure virtually non-existent.

We have built flashpacker and backpacker resorts at the lower end of the market all the way up to the most luxurious "7 Star" resort in the Southern Hemisphere (Laucala Island Resort). Each project was unique in its own way and many involved design work in addition to construction where we were responsible for delivering from beginning to end.

PBS is now widely recognised as the region's leading resort builder and on the back of a tourism boom in the South Pacific has taken on and built over $100,000,000 of resort work in the last three years alone.

Design and Build

Our work often begins long before the actual construction does. Civil Construction

At PBS, we thrive on tackling technical and difficult projects in challenging locations. We use our experience and skills to develop innovative engineering solutions. "Structures that last are built on strong foundations." For PBS, that is not just a construction principle, it is our business philosophy. We take pride in everything we build and when it comes to building trust, we start from the ground up.

We have experience in the design and construction of roads, drainage and civil works developments using well established relationships with subcontractors and technical experts for residential subdivisions, marina developments and landscaping projects.

Airport Construction

PBS recently developed Fiji’s premier day and night, all-weather aerodrome facility including runway construction, lighting and general airport facilities. We even organised all local and national government licenses and other approvals necessary to commence flight operations. Our unique team of project managers, engineers, consultants and key vendors rely upon in-house management and logistics team where no airport job is too big, too remote or too difficult and where time and money is of the essence.

Marine Construction

Working on the water is another key area where PBS excels. Our team of marine and civil works professionals are experienced in constructing wharves & piers, marinas, jetties, breakwaters, seawalls and have dredged waterways in Fiji and other South Pacific nations. Movie Set Building

As unusual as it might seem, PBS has an extraordinary amount of experience in movie set construction. Recent projects on which we've been commissioned include:

Endemol's "Under One-Roof" - We were commissioned for the construction of a 3,600 square foot house for the Endemol production, Under One Roof, in a very remote part of the Fiji Island group. We completed this large house in 10-weeks on time and within budget. In addition, one of our directors was employed as Assistant Art Director. We supplied vehicles, boats, tools and manpower for the duration of the production.

Eco Challenge - PBS was employed to coordinate construction for Eco Challenge. We built starting props and signboards and provided contacts during scouting and pre production.

MTV Road Rules - we were employed as location scout for MTV Road Rules and main contact during pre-production. In addition, we were commissioned as construction coordinators to supply all construction materials, props and sets for the production. MTV hired trucks, tools and boats from PBS.

Anacondas: The Hunt for the Blood Orchid (Columbia Films) - PBS was commissioned to transform Viti Corp farm sheds into a base for the Construction/Art department workshop for the shooting of the movie Anacondas. One of our directors was personally employed as Construction Foreman for the movie and PBS supplied the core of the local construction department. We supplied tools, vehicles, boats, generators, manpower and local contacts to the department.

Granada's Fantasy Love Island - we were commissioned by Granada to provide materials for the celebrity Love Island on Bounty Island. We pre-fabricated a variety of structures and props.

Survivor (FIJI)- Our biggest movie construction project was the design and building of the crew accommodation for the crew of Survivor in Labasa in late 2005. We built 174 one bedroom units in 5 weeks on a remote site on Vanua Levu, Fiji. We also built props and assisted with tribal council buildings amongst others.

Other - numerous international and local commercials and set building - including prefabrication of the entire set for the movie Smiledon where we were commissioned as the construction manager.

We have a wide range of vehicles and tools including generators, boats, trucks, crane trucks and four-wheel drives. We offer a broad variety of specialty services and with our local knowledge help accomplish virtually any media production in Fiji and the South Pacific.
