University student Rachael Mafi wants to advocate for our senior citizens at this year's Vodafone Hibiscus Festival.
Ms Mafi, who hails from Ono-i-Lau, is studying at the University of the South Pacific.
She is doing a double major in law and psychology.
She is sponsored by Pacific Building Solutions, a construction company.
"I was called up by my sponsor to take part for this year's contest," she said. "And since they encouraged me to enter because of the charity work that is going to be involved, I decided to enter the Hibiscus festival," she said.
The 19-year-old lass is a sports fanatic. She loves to play squash, cycling and go hiking.
"I also love to read," she added.
Ms Mafi attended St Joseph's Secondary School before doing Form Six and Seven at Yat Sen Secondary School.
She is the eldest and has four brothers and a sister.
For this contestant, challenging citizens on their role in the lives of senior citizens is what she aims to do. |
